Help Doug replace his home

My name is Doug Higgins. On Thursday October 21st 2021 I was moving my 19 ft travel trailer from my summer home near Flagstaff Arizona to my winter home the public lands surrounding Lake Havasu City Arizona.
I was caught up in a vortex or a slipstream of a passing semi truck. I lost control of my vehicle and travel trailer and after jackknifing both the car and the trailer ended up on their side.
Both vehicles now reside at a wrecking yard in Kingman Arizona. Friends have provided me with emergency shelter but all of my personal property remains with my travel trailer in Kingman Arizona.
I have an appointment for open heart surgery and a quadruple bypass in Flagstaff Arizona on Wednesday November 4th.
I believe I have a location to recover from surgery for 4 to 6 weeks but naturally I miss my home.
I asked a friend to prepare a statement that appears below:
My name is Peggy Rubach. I am one of hundreds of Doug's friends and admirers.
In the time I've known Doug, I have been constantly amazed by his willingness to reach out to his community and listen.
I have not known anyone in this lifestyle that has been as generous with his time and energy.
Over the course of the last 4 years Doug's cardiovascular disease has increased dramatically. But, nevertheless, even with his shortness of breath, no one has done more in my community to promote that "damn morning walk" than Doug has!
In the last year, he had to turn to bringing a three-legged stool with him, so he could stop and catch his breath.
Last Summer, he earned the honorary title of "Mayor of Welch Road". The handle has stuck with him.
Last Thursday,Doug had a significant accident and lost control of his SUV and 19 ft travel trailer. He is currently without a home.
This coming Wednesday, November 3rd he will undergo open heart surgery and a quadruple bypass to correct the shortness of breath problem.
He was really looking forward to doing his recovery in his normal winter destination of Lake Havasu City when this life-changing accident occurred.
I'm sure that he is too proud to ask for the stated amount of this pledge. When I spoke to him the first figure he came up with was $5,000.
Our mayor is long overdue for a raise. Please join me in helping him now. He's always been there for us. Now it's our turn to be there for him.
