Help Donna Carson-Williams

On June 4, 2020, the 6th anniversary of her sister's unexpected death, Donna Carson-Williams suffered three strokes. One while she was sleeping, one while she was getting a CT scan, and one in the emergency department. Donna is still not able to move her left side, and we are hoping that treatment will allow her to regain control of that side. She needs to partake in rehabilitation immediately, and long-term treatment includes occupational and physical therapy.  Donna will likely need transportation to and from appointments, as well as daily help with things like meal preparation until she is able to use her left side again. Unfortunately, Donna does not have disability insurance through her job as a home care Licensed Practical Nurse. Medical bills are starting to pile up, and of course she still has her standard monthly expenses to maintain her home life.

Donna is one of the most caring people you could possibly meet. She is driven to protect children. When her sister and brother-in-law both died unexpectedly, Donna took in their children as her own. She now has four children; a 21-year old, a 14-year-old, and two 12-year-olds. With three children at home to care for, Donna needs our help. Donna works as a Licensed Practical Nurse, helping children with special needs, and she plans to ultimately become a Nurse Practitioner to continue that work. She is in school right now to earn her Associate Degree of Nursing, and despite her intense course load has become certified to be an advocate in court for foster children and their best interests.

The goal for this fundraiser is starting at the $1,000 mark, but we all know that barely covers the monthly cost of a home, let alone expenses for three children living at home in addition to emergency medical care related to three strokes.
