Help Donate to Moua Vang; Victim of Mass Shooting

Moua Vang and Kim Lee are the last people to ever ask for help but the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. I have created this GoFundMe to help my friends of 20+ years in their time of need and to relieve just a small portion of their worries as they are faced with adversity. Moua is a devoted stay-at-home father to five children whom he shares with his wife, Kim.  They are expecting their 6th child next month as his wife is currently 8 months pregnant. Moua’s daily routine consists of dropping off and picking up his children at school while his wife cares for their two youngest daughters who are medically-challenged, 7 and 5, whom they adopted in 2017 and 2019, respectively. 

On Sunday, November 17, 2019, Moua was 1 of 10 injured victims to a horrific mass shooting that occurred in Fresno, CA. He was gathered at a friend’s home with other family and friends when unidentified shooters entered the backyard through a side gate and open fired at the crowd of men who were on the patio. Moua was caught in the line of fire.  He was hit once in the top left portion of his stomach. The bullet fractured a portion of his pelvic bone and exited through the back of his right thigh. He would have been hit a second time by another bullet but fortunately it was stopped by his iPhone in his pocket. He was fortunate to only suffer burns on his leg which was a result of the battery in his phone exploding from the impact of the bullet. He was ambulated to the hospital immediately following the incident and emergency surgery was performed. Following his surgery, Moua is bedridden and his family and friends patiently wait and pray for a safe and full recovery. They are hopeful to see the day that their father, friend and husband is able to walk again. 

Moua loves raising chickens, travelling, singing and spending time with his family and friends. He has the biggest and kindest heart and a wonderful sense of humor. His positive energy radiates onto others and he’d go above and beyond to help those in need. Moua is a supportive and patient husband. He is the kind of man that will always provide a helping hand, emotionally and financially. 

We are eternally grateful that the injuries Moua sustained were not fatal and he is expected to survive; however, his road to a full recovery will be long and hard. His wife will now have to care for not only him, but also two of their medically-fragile children who require constant care and must attend medical appointments 3 times a week.  Although they are currently focused on Moua’s recovery on a day-to-day basis, their family and loved ones must now come together to help care for their children.

As Moua continues to recover from his injuries, his medical bills also continue to rise.  At this time, we ask for any donations to assist them during this difficult time.
