My beloved brother, Dominick Vavala, suffered a Heart Attack 10 weeks ago, requiring bypass surgery and a 6-week recovery.  Last week, after developing soars, he visited Lakewood Ranch Hospital, where he and his family was delivered some devastating news.  He has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, which is an extremely aggressive form of the disease.  He is being admitted to the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL for an aggressive, 30-day in-house Chemotherapy treatment.

Throughout this entire ordeal, my brother has been unable to go to work.  Medical co-pays, deductibles, and related expenses are mounting; all the while he is unable to earn his regular income.  Another added hardship is the distance the hospital is from Dominick and his wife, Mary's, home.  Mary will be taking numerous trips back and forth between their residence and the hospital for visits.

A donation from you in any amount will help cover these medical and associated costs.  His treatment begins May 1st, 2019.

So I sent Dom up to Delaware on Saturday so that he could make his appointment with Johns Hopkins for the bone marrow transplant. My daughter and his older sister will be going up with him to make sure if they have any questions they can be answered. I'm thinking they may tell him whether or not they have a donor for him and start the process. This next step is crucial because without it he only has a 10% chance of survival but it doesn't come without risks. Please pass along and we want to thank everyone for their continued support.

Dom's bone marrow biopsy came back clean and so did the lumbar puncture!!!!!!!!!! They are looking for his numbers to go back up and he may be able to come home Monday. He'll spend a week home to see the cardiologist and then it's up to Johns Hopkins for the marrow transplant, He'll be staying with one of his sisters until he can come back home. Thank you all again and please share.

Bone marrow was done yesterday and hopefully we will get a good result so Dom can spend a few days at home before going up to stay with family and get the bone marrow transplant. There have been really rough days when he thought he wouldn't make it through but there are more to come. Seeing his family, children and grandchildren should boost his resolve to beat this monster. He has the most difficult type to put into remission and cure. Please pass along to everyone and share the link because his fight is not over yet.
Thank you to everyone.

After playing musical rooms the last 4 days Dom is finally in a room with a private bathroom, He hasn't had a good nights sleep in all that time and this morning he was given antibiotics for the pneumonia. He has difficulty breathing and a loss of appetite, I am hoping this turns around because he needs to keep up his strength. Please continue to keep him in your prayers and to share this link.
Thank you to everyone for your continued support. It means the world to us,
