Help Ding Tea recover from multiple break ins

Donation protected

The bubble tea shop is a women and minority owned business near by Portland State University, was burglarized 2 times within 3 months by the same person.

First time happened on 6/30/2021, skinny build, wearing backpack with reflector on the strap with his skateboard. He was able to pick the lock and slipped in the small gap between a locked loose chain. He took cash and 3 delivery tablets and POS.

Second time happened on 8/19/2021, he was not able to slip through the gap this time so he decided to break the door glass to gain access. Just like last time he took the delivery tablets and the POS we recently replaced.

The bubble tea in near downtown by PSU, the business struggled very hard since the pandemic started in Feb 2020. Due to PSU was not open for in-person class, nearby offices and city officials are closed for work from home, and more than 100 days of continue protests in downtown Portland in 2020. As we are getting ready for students to come back fall of 2021, and this happened.

What he took probably worth no more than $300-$400 in resell value, but the cost for replacing the tablets, the POS and the lost of sales are in the thousands. We have created this GoFundMe to help cover the expenses for replacing our storefront door, applying security film to the new glass, upgrading our security system, recouping cost of boarding up the windows and broken glass removal, product loss, cash stolen, and the cost of installing a security gate. We’re hoping that with your help, we can not only recover all that we lost, but also prevent this from happening again.
