Help Dezjuan Pursue a Bachelors Of Fine Arts

Dear Friends, Family, Comrades and Community,

JOIN US in RADICAL LOVE and SUPPORT FOR BLACK ARTISTS by making it possible for Dezjuan, a young, queer, black photographer from Hudson, NY, to pursue his arts degree at Purchase College!

A COMMUNITY OF FRIENDS, SOCIAL JUSTICE ORGANIZERS, & ARTISTS ARE SEEKING THE FOLLOWING FOR DEZJUAN:

A minimum of $25K for two years; room & board, tuition, fees & books, photography equipment, supplies and basic living expenses AFTER financial aid.

We want to secure funding as soon as possible, so Dezjuan can focus on beginning his adventure. Any donation, however small, can help us reach our goal. If you have the resources, please consider making a contribution that aligns with your abilities.

Lucy Segar, with whom Dezjaun currently lives, has been helping Dezjuan navigate the college application process, applying for financial aid etc. will receive the funds in her Venmo and pass them on to Dezjuan. Every donation via Venmo will be applied to the total money raised in the GoFundMe so we can all keep track of the campaign's progress.

Replace Dezjuan's professional camera.

Dezjuan’s professional camera was STOLEN, rather frustratingly, on his first stay at Purchase during an orientation program. This has caused him distress and has seriously hampered his ability to create. He will need $2K to replace it, or you can purchase it directly here:

Please feel free to share any suggestions or leads for grants, scholarships or patronage for photography students, queer, Black artists, children of single mothers, low-income students, etc. We want to fund Dezjuan for the costs of the first two years, but he will still need to obtain an additional $25-30K of funding for the full four years.
