Devin Jones is an active 31-year-old, single father and an honorably discharged United States Marine Corps Veteran with deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan. He is actively working towards completing a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and planned to join the federal government post-graduation. He is a family man who enjoys spending time with loved ones and his best canine friend, Raider.
While the above message may sound impressive, the real story has a much more tragic tone. After serving our country on multiple deployments and while just beginning to build his post-duty life in Las Vegas, Devin was struck by a motorist while riding his motorcycle. The result of this crash is that Devin has lost most of the use of his dominant right arm from the shoulder down to fingertips. Revolutionary and cutting edge stem-cell therapy is available specifically for cases like Devin’s and it’s benefits, even to the point of full recovery/mobility, have been proven. But the cost is not covered by Devin’s insurance and the amount is a devastating figure to Devin’s financial position. Treatments can cost between $20k - $60K each and Devin needs multiple sessions. Hyperbaric chamber therapy has also been shown to be effective, but those treatments are $150 each and need to happen 5 days per week for the next 6 months. These costs do not include possible follow up surgeries and physical therapy.
