Help Denis & Kayla with medical for Braelyn

We are with heavy hearts in Cartier, Ontario during this holidays season, as one of our own may not be home with family celebrating.

 

On 20th of December, Denis Lemelin and partner Kayla were awoken during the night to a medical complications with there 4 year old daughter Braelyn. She was found struggling to breathe due to a build up of fluid within her lung and esophagus, causing her to loose consciousness. CPR was preformed while awaiting transport to our local Sudbury Regional Hospital. She was then airlifted to London SickKids Hospital, where the family is residing at this time. Braelyn suffers from a condition called KCNT1, a genetic mutation leaving her developmentally delayed due to low potassium levels, not allowing her to properly develop in the brain. Her immobility steams from Scoliosis within her spinal cord, that doesn't allow her lung to expand and contract on there own, forcing her to be on a breathing tube 24 hours a day. She is in a none verbal state requiring, meals threw a feeding tube, and continuous monitoring. This puts added pressure on their family as she requires much needed medical attention, round the clock care, and high medical expenses.

 

At this time, it is unknown as to what medical treatment is required and or how long her recovery could be. She has been in stable condition since our last update, but it is unclear as to what the future holds. She has been put in an induced coma to help her body rest, and rebuild the strength she needs to continue fighting. Braelyn has a long recovery ahead and an even longer one for her parents. We continue to keep his family within our thoughts, and hope for a fast recovery. Denis and Kayla are currently on a leave of absent from work and have no return date set.

 

I am starting a Fundraiser to help with hotel accommodations, flight to and from, and medical expenses not covered by the Ontario Government and or work health care plans. It's hard to keep up with the consistent accumulation of bills and expense within they're current situation. I'm looking to relive as much financial stress off their family as possible, to allow them to focus all there attention where it is needed the most. Denis and family are currently staying in Town and County Inn & Suits in London Ontario. It's not clear how long they will remain in these accommodations that are not covered by any type of funding.
