Help Deliver Smiles in Paraguay

In Paraguay, 35% of the population currently lives in poverty with one in thirteen living on less than $1.25 a day. Among low income families, dental needs often take a lower priority than putting food on the table, leaving 95% of decayed teeth untreated. Children in Paraguay have an average of more than 3.5 decayed, missing and filled permanent teeth at 12 years old.
Our team of volunteer dentists and support staff work to provide free dental care in impoverished communities throughout the greater Asuncion area.
Our goal is to raise $18,000 to expand our programs and include:
- Two dental outreaches every week
- One large dental outreach monthly with three volunteer dentists
- An oral hygiene program for schools and orphanages that includes cleanings, oral hygiene education and the distribution of toothbrushes/toothpaste
This program will serve approx. 1,800 individuals living in some of the most poverty stricken communities.
Every $1 that is donated helps provide $25 in donated dental care, helping to deliver Smiles across Paraguay.
