Help Debing's Family in China

On behalf of Debing Su's close friends, we are raising funds for Debing's family in China to help them cope with a deadly emergency.

It utterly broke our heart that Debing passed away in a tragic accident earlier this month when she was travelling in Ecuador. We have been in deep shock and great sorrow, mourning the loss of such a wonderful friend, who left us too soon, too unexpectedly.

Debing was born and raised in China. She received her BA degree in English from Beijing Forestry University and her MA degree in mass communication from the University of Florida. After graduation, she worked at the University of Michigan as an International Public Relations Specialist at Michigan News and the social media coordinator at the Lieberthal-Rogel Center for Chinese Studies, while pursuing an MBA degree which she earned in 2021 from U-M Ross School of Business.

For many years, she has impressed numerous people with her kindness, generosity, positive mindset, and energic personality. She could always lighten up your day with her contagious laughter and whimsical sense of humor. Her love for life and adventurous spirit were truly extraordinary. She is genuinely curious about the world, so travelling became one of her biggest hobbies. In her spare time, she was always on her way to the next destination. She always remembered to mail her friends postcards, sharing her excitement about experiencing new cultures and new peoples. As usual, we were waiting for her postcards from Ecuador this time. But this wait now turned to be forever...

Debing's family in China has been profoundly agonizing. No words can describe how intense their devastation is. Her father, despite his serious chronic disease, and her step-sister will travel to the U.S. soon to see Debing for the last time at her funeral.

They need your help. Please consider donating to this fundraiser to provide them the necessary financial support that covers the expenses incurred by their international travel and stay in the U.S. All the funds raised through this platform will be transferred to Debing's father.
