Help Davis & LGBTIQ people of faith in West Africa
My name is Davis Mac-Iyalla and I am the founder and executive director of Interfaith Diversity Network of West Africa (IDNOWA)
IDNOWA is a regional network of activists, faith-based individuals, LGBTIQ persons, advocates and individual activists working for inclusion of diverse persons to create a world governed by respect and dignity. IDNOWA is based in Ghana with partners across West Africa and beyond. We are the only grassroots interfaith network providing spiritual and psychosocial support in West Africa. We offer faith and human rights training and provide safe space and shelter for LGBTIQ people at risks and feeling persecutions.
Recently, we have been actively involved in the welfare, care, and campaigning for the release of the Ghana 21 who were arrested and imprisoned while at an assembly to help find ways to reconcile LGBTIQ persons and religious perspectives. We continue to help provide legal and general assistance to the victims.
IDNOWA is struggling to cope with the huge request for our services. Without your help we will not be able to cop and be forced to withdraw the help that the LGBTIQ community of West Africa so desperately needs.
We ask for your financial support, however small, to enable us to continue our essential work and help and educate more people about human rights and equality for LGBTIQ people.
You can find more about us on itdnowa.org.
