Help Davina and Eric rebuild their home

In the summer of 2020, Davina and Eric were robbed of their life-savings while trying to renovate their East York bungalow.

As the parents of two young children (ages 3 and 18 months), they needed more space. After six months of searching and years of saving, they were excited to find a contractor who promised to build the home they needed. Within five months the contractor, whom they had vetted, had stolen $140,000 and left them with nothing but a shell of a house.

Davina and Eric moved out in July, the interior of their house was demolished by the unscrupulous contractor they hired, and they are now unable to return home. Their young family of four are currently living with Eric's parents—both seniors—in the middle of this deadly pandemic. It has proven to be a very stressful and straining situation for everyone.

This young family is looking for your help to get them back into their home--for the well-being of their daughters, as well as the health and safety of Eric's parents. They have been in touch with both the police and lawyers, but the legal fees to recover their sunken costs are currently well out of their budget.

All funds raised will go toward hiring a new contractor. The priority now is to get them back home!

Davina and Eric are both public school teachers. Being back in their own home as soon as possible will allow them space for their family not only to live, but to work safely and remotely during these difficult times.
