To our Family, Friends and Communities,
I am writing to ask for financial support for my cousin, Daniel Ramirez. Danny was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Clear Cell Renal Carcinoma with Sarcomatoid Differentiation, a rare and aggressive cancer. He recently underwent surgery to remove his kidney and is now facing a daunting treatment schedule. Fortunately, he has some medical coverage. However, the family’s financial hardship stems from the reality that Danny has been and will be unable to work with consistency.
Dan is a father of three wonderful children. His eldest, Daniel Jr., resides in Albany. He shares his two younger children with Christine, the love of his life for twenty years. His daughter is a student at Smithtown East High School. His son is an eighth grader at Great Hollow Middle School in Smithtown.
Dan proudly works as a sub-contractor for Renewal by Anderson Window Company. Home improvement work can be variable due to seasonal fluctuations. In recent times with the Pandemic, many families are postponing home improvements which has an effect as well. We are so grateful Dannyś employer is strategically thinking outside the box and Dan is still able to make a contribution to the company. However, Dan's ability to perform manual labor is severely limited by his doctor appointments and the physical limitations of his illness.
Dan is too proud to ask for financial assistance to pay for monthly expenses. I believe the added stress of providing for his family, keeping his children in Smithtown High School East and Great Hollow Middle School and literally keeping a roof over their heads is a burden that can be eased by small contributions from many.
Please consider contributing to this cause. We understand that this is SO much to ask during the current economic climate; we appreciate even the smallest donation.
