Daniel Carson Lee needs our help. Daniel was born with Apert Syndrome, a rare, randomly-occurring genetic disorder characterized by skeletal abnormalities. He has already had skull surgery as well as mouth surgery, and he sees a growing number of specialists to problem-solve his health concerns. The family is experiencing many unexpected expenses as well as lost income. Frank and Allie are performers and teachers in the Old Time Music Community and are loved dearly by so many of us as we have enjoyed their music, company, and friendship for so long. But their music career has been impacted by COVID. Though they have been trying to adapt their business model, their focus needs to be on Daniel and getting him the medical care he needs. Daniel and his family Frank (pictured), Allie, and Willow are in dire need of your help at this time to face the many challenges facing their family. I ask you to open your heart to them.
Daniel will face many challenges as he grows, such as multiple hand surgeries and an intense facial surgery, but he needs us now. Your gifts will help the Lees: - fund trips multiple times a week to see specialists that are 1-5 hours away - cover income lost from COVID (they applied for unemployment but were denied) - pay for the disability lawyer who is helping them navigate the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) system (they have applied and been denied) - save for Daniel’s future medical needs that may not be covered by Medicaid (they may have to go out of state for the hand surgeries) - make needed home repairs to ensure Daniel has a safe living environment - advocate for changes to the SSI system that will help all people with Apert Syndrome I know these are hard times for many folks, but my appeal to you is urgent and imperative for Daniel's well- being.
I set the goal of this fundraiser at $25K, and when you look into Daniel’s eyes, you will understand why. Daniel and his family have a long road ahead. Will you join me in helping to pave their way?
