Help Dani get the medical treatment that she needs

Dani was born in December 2018, she looked healthy and strong. From day one she shared smiles and made everyone around her feel blessed.

One day Dani’s mummy (Mayra) noticed that her arms didn’t seem to have the strength to hold a milk bottle. After many stressful weeks and tests doctors gave the family the news: Dani was diagnosed with Muscular Atrophy Level 1 (SMA) which is the most severe form of Atrophy.

SMA affects a child's ability to crawl, walk, sit up, and control head and movements. Severe SMA can also damage the muscles used for breathing and swallowing.

Little Dani was recently in Hospital with oxygen support as she couldn’t breath due to the lack of strength in her muscles to simply spit out phlegm. Something as simple as this can be difficult and life threatening for someone with SMA.

Dani will need ongoing treatment by a medical care team. The good news is that there’s a new treatment for SMA that was approved in 2016. This medicine increases the amount of protein that her body desperately needs for her to improve her breathing, motor function and survival.

The treatment is extremely / ridiculously expensive (on the 100sK mark) along with ongoing visits to the doctors and hospitals.

PLEASE help Dani receive the medical treatment she needs and deserves which will improve the quality of her life greatly. With your help Dani will get an opportunity to live a better, joyful and dreamful life.

-My name is Georgina Aguilera Llamas. I am the creator of this funding campaign.

I met Mayra (Dani's mum) when I was 3 years old, we attended the same kindergarten, Primary school, High school and College  (even University  although we studied different professions) . Mayra was also my neighbour and her family and my family we grew up together as one.

I moved to Australia 7 years ago but I kept in touch with Mayra and Daniel (Dani's parents).  I sadly missed their wedding and other big events in their life, but I was lucky enough to see Dani just after a few days she was born. (last December). It was not until a few moths after Dani was born that we learned about her condition. 

My partner (Ron) and I decided to create this campaign to help Dani getting the medical attention that she needs and deserves. Our friends in Mexico (including Mayra's and Daniel's friends), helped us organising it. 

Thanks to everyone's generosity and lovely hearts we managed to raise a significant sum that will help Dani's family paying some of the incredibly expensive bills that they face day to day. 

As most of you know already, Dani needs a treatment that costs over the 6 digits figures. We want to give Dani a chance to live a happy, healthy and meaningful life!

I would like to let everyone know that the money will be withdrawn and deposited to my personal account in Australia. As soon as I receive the money, this will be transferred to Mayra and Daniel's Mexican bank account. 

When the money is withdrawn we will keep everyone posted through messages and notifications about the  location and status of the money. 

Mayra is happy to share with all donors proof of the authenticity of this campaign; we are happy to share bills and receipts to provide transparency.
