Help Cricket help her Dad

Those of you that know me know that I don't easily ask for help. Those of you who know my father, know that he would be beside himself if he knew that I was asking for help on his behalf.  Therefore, please do not mention this go fund to my father and please avoid offering help or sympathies to him directly unless he has approached you about this situation.  I feel slightly uncomfortable doing this without his approval but I have no other options.   Here's the story.  Just last week he had a procedure to remove what they thought were gall stones. In the process they discovered that he has a large cancerous tumor on his pancreaous.  The tumor is blocking his bile duct and large enough that it is pushing on a vasticular (I'm still trying to understand what exactly that means so I may be wording it incorrectly).   The tumor needs to be removed as soon as possible within the next week or two as the surgeon said that waiting a month or more would be too late.   He is in Florida, living alone, and nearing 78 years old. He has no immediate family that can help him in the area.  I need and want to be there to help him.   It is my goal to be there during the surgery and for a couple of weeks after.  At this point, it's difficult to know what he will need post surgery. Any money donated will help with travel expenses, lost wages for myself and my father (I have no paid time off), and any additional will go to helping him with insurance deductables and co-pay's and potentially other necessary trips back and forth, etc in the future.  I may change the goal amount based on the diagnosis and needs post-surgery. It has been a huge struggle to get all the information I want and need while being in Maine.  I need to physically be there to get all the information and to be a strong advocate for him.  With this all happening within the next couple of weeks, I am in need immediately so that I can make my travel arrangements. Any donation, large or small, will be incredibly appreciated.
