Help create the first Cambridge Poetry MashUp!

Donation protected
My friend Toni Bee dreams of hosting a unified poetry event in the City of Cambridge that is inclusive of all voices. Toni was the first woman elected Cambridge Poet Populist in 2011 and the city’s 2016 Inaugural Poetry Ambassador. Toni has a special ability to leverage poetry and art towards community empowerment, but she needs our help to make it happen!

Recently, Toni shared one of her dreams with me and others, saying, “Let’s have a series of events, free to the public, full of poets that read and sing.” As a team, we are cementing the plans with multiple dates, event venues, support from YWCA and The Cambridge Arts Council too. But we need you, our community, to help us PLEASE raise $3000 to make this first Poetry MashUp the best it can be and accessible to everyone.

The money will pay for event venues, food for guests, feature poet fees, musicians, awards, the booklet, and thank you gifts. A more specific budget is shared below in the name of transparency.

The Cambridge Poetry MashUp celebrates the array of poetry voices living and participating in Cambridge, MA. We will hear the artistic words of our neighbors of all cultures, genders, and ages. It is an April National Poetry Month celebration. There will be several events with: poets, singers, storytelling, international languages, and an open mic. We welcome individual poets and groups of youth, teens, adults, and elders.

If you appreciate Poetry and song and a variety of voices - please support us monetarily and share Toni’s dream of The Cambridge Poetry Mashup that - with your help - will soon come true!

***********POETS in THE LINE UP: Ashley Rose / Chad Parenteau / Black Byrd / Gilmore Tamny / Charles Coe / Jason Wright / Amanda Shea/Jean Dany Joachim / Cole Rodriguez, and many others are joining in our celebration.....!
