Erica the Fighter!

On Monday, August 21 Erica went to urgent care thinking she had strep throat. After the test results came back negative, the doctor prescribed antibiotics as a precaution. After a few days of still not feeling well (August 24), Erica noticed petechiae all over her body, she became more concerned. Luckily, Erica works with doctors who were able to run her emergency blood work, but barely able to stay awake, she was sent home.
That same afternoon, the Dr. received the results and asked her to be driven to the emergency room, immediately, where she was diagnosed with "Acute myeloid (or myelogenous) leukemia (AML)" and her hemoglobin levels were a 4. Due to the severity, Erica was immediately admitted, administered blood and plasma transfusions, and continues to receive them on a daily basis. She will remain in the hospital for a period of 6 weeks and start the chemotherapy treatments once she is cleared by the doctors.
As Erica starts the journey, she will be unable to work and will accumulate medical bills, amongst the monthly expenses. Please help us exceed our goal and assist Erica and her family during this unfortunate diagnosis.
