Help cover Blakley’s medical expenses

As the friends and coworkers of Summer Hipp, we would like to ask for your support.

Summer is a very dedicated mother, wife, and nurse. Summer spends most her time working in an intensive care unit, caring for the sick or at Children’s Hospital at her daughter’s bedside. Due to her daughter’s medical history, Summer and her husband have thousands of unpaid medical bills.

Blakley was born December 31, 2019, nine weeks early. Blakley had an extensive NICU stay before being able to return home with her family. In the course of Blakley’s little life she has had multiple hospital stays, testing & procedures, and ventilator assisted support.

Blakley has been diagnosed with bone marrow MDS. Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are conditions that can occur when the blood-forming cells in the bone marrow become abnormal. This leads to low numbers of one or more types of blood cells. MDS is considered a type of cancer. Medications that Blakley have been taking have caused side effects; some that have required further hospital stays.

It’s very important for us as her coworkers and work family to help provide support. Summer and her husband are currently working extra shifts to help pay past due medical expenses. This takes away from their precious time together as a family.
