Help Cora Walk Again: Urgent Surgery Needed

On April 12, 2024 we woke up to our amazing Cora unable to walk due to her back legs being paralyzed. We rushed her to the animal emergency room where it was revealed she had a severe slipped disc in her lower back that could leave her paralyzed in her back legs if surgery was not performed within 48 hours.

A little about us: We are Jason and Chambrea Dodd. We have worked for the police department for 10 years, have a new baby on the way, and we love our dog named Cora. She is family to to us, and we would do anything to help her.

Unfortunately, as most people know, healthcare is expensive and it’s no exception for dogs. Cora’s slipped disk is estimated to cost over $10,000 to fix. I cannot doom Cora to a life of paralysis, so the surgery was the only option. While we understand the burden of care ultimately falls on us, we would be greatly appreciative of every dollar donated to help us with this terrible situation. If by some miracle we are able to raise more than the goal, we will take every additional dollar and donate it to another animal and family that could use assistance like us.

How did this happen? About a week earlier, Cora had an amazing weekend at Corgi Beach day where she got to see the ocean for the first time. She spent an hour on the beach and played in the sand. In her excitement, it appears she slipped a disk in her lower back. After serval days of rest, she woke up unable to move her legs.
