The journey to tell our untold story has been enlightening and exceptionally rewarding.

Since writing my book, Mi América: The Evolution of an American Family, I have uncovered so much more history than I could have ever imagined. I could easily write several more chapters. Our history is long, complex and at times controversial. My family did not come over on the Mayflower, or through Ellis Island or on slave ships from Africa, we didn't even cross the border - we were already here.

Several months ago, I made the decision to work with a film producer to create a documentary based on my book. Real stories about real people. I never imagined there was so much to tell and as a result, the cost of filming has exceeded my allocated budget.

Now, I need to ask for your help to complete the journey and to bring our rich history to life on screen. If you are from New Mexico, have roots there or simply love history, please join me in telling this important story.
