Hi! My name is Cole Strietelmeier.
My current marching percussion experience started in 2016 at Center Grove High School where I was in the indoor percussion programs for 2016, 2017, and 2018. As I neared the end of high school, I wanted to keep cymbals in my life so I tried out for Cap City Percussion's cymbal line for the 2019 season and have stayed there for 2020 and 2021.
As I have marched Cap City, I had also started my teaching career in Bloomington and currently teach cymbals at Center Grove High school. My goal has been to grow as a marching percussionist through these experiences, and provide the best experience I can as a teacher of a cymbal line or staff in an ensemble.
As I near the end of my marching career, I have been unable to add marching Drum Corps to my experience yet. Marching Drum Corps has been huge goal of mine since I saw my first finals in 2015, and I am fortunate enough to earn an opportunity to march this summer with River City Rhythm (https://www.rivercityrhythm.org/ )!
The money donated will go directly towards the overall dues of $1500 for the month long season that starts in Minnesota on July 19th and will end in Indianapolis on August 14th. Everything will be provided during the season as far as food and transportation go. During the season I will be rehearsing close to 12 hours a day everyday with 120 other passionate marchers and a world class staff there to help me improve as much as I can.
I'm very excited to begin this journey and grow as a marcher and a teacher!
