Help Cody & Ashley's Dream of Parenthood

Dear Friends and Family,

This is a difficult letter for us to write, but we feel it’s time to share something we’ve been holding close to our hearts. For the past 7 years, Ashley and I have been struggling with infertility, a journey we’ve chosen not to talk about with many people. It’s not been an easy path, and for a long time, we kept this struggle private because it was too painful to share. But we are now at a point where we need to reach out for help.

Over the years, we’ve tried various treatments, including four failed IUIs, three years of trigger shots, and medications. Unfortunately, none have worked. One of our key motivations behind undergoing bariatric surgery was to improve our chances of conceiving, and while we are healthier, we still haven’t been able to have the child we’ve dreamed of. This has brought us to what feels like our last chance to naturally grow our family.

After discussing our options with doctors, we’ve decided that IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) offers the best hope for us. However, as many of you know, the cost of IVF is staggering—over $40,000 per cycle, with doctors suggesting that it takes 2-4 cycles to be successful. This is a sum we simply cannot afford on our own. So now, we find ourselves asking for something we never thought we would: help.

We both work in public education and believe strongly that children are our future. Unfortunately, as educators our insurance does not cover any portion of fertility treatment.

If you feel moved to support us, whether by contributing financially or sharing our story, we would be deeply grateful. Any contribution, big or small, brings us closer to the dream we’ve been chasing for so long. We know that this is a deeply personal matter, and it’s not easy for us to ask for assistance, but this is our last hope for a chance to become parents. We would just save and put this dream on hold until we could afford it, but we are nearing the age where pregnancy becomes more and more difficult to achieve.
