Help Coastal Rose on the Beach - Flushing Cornwall

Please help raise funds to help Coastal Rose on the Beach. (I must add my name is also Rose! This fundraiser isn't for me it’s for Rose the owner)

Coastal Rose on the Beach has been told – on very short notice – that her new lease agreement is being revoked, and that she must now vacate the premises by the 31st of March 2024! Time is running out!

Coastal Rose on the beach is based on Flushing beach providing water sports, sweet treats and drinks from the boat shed and her crepe stall.

Rose had saw something in that little tired, dilapidated hut. And she approached the land owners with her ideas. Rose literally dug the boatshed out from the mud. Rotted out from years of neglect. Not to mention all the other nasties (since behind it was used as a public loo for 20+ years). Rose restored the shed herself and invested heavily in both money, time and pure grafting to create Coastal Rose on the Beach, a beloved staple to both surrounding areas and visiting guests.

Rose has created a sustainable and low-impact business. ‘Coastal Rose on the Beach’ has added so much value to the community, and become a hub for locals and visitors to hire water equipment or have a lesson and enjoy relaxing in a deckchair whilst soaking up the view and enjoying one of her delicious homemade bakes and have a chat.

Rose is autistic and struggling with the sudden change. Known for her kindness and cheer, Rose is now standing to lose everything she has worked hard for in the last 15 years, including her livelihood.

Rose needs our support. She is incredibly stressed and upset, and is terrified of what will happen next. She has nowhere to go, and no means to save everything she has worked hard for, for more than a decade! She is obviously absolutely heart broken and very shook up by the recent events. I really hope we can help Rose with the costs that arise from this crisis to help ease her panic. By ensuring she has a place to store all her kit and all the other business items she has painstakingly saved for over the years. Rose is also facing both lost income currently due to all the work involved and not being able to take future bookings and sudden loss of income this year as she now loses her business. She is also very scared she may have to cover legal fees should it arise.

Rose dedicates a lot of her time to keep the beach looking lovely. Whether that be raking seaweed before it gets stinky and covered in flies, clearing dangerous beach fire residue, raking the rocks to provide a sandy area, doing all the weeding and clearing that side of the beach which once didn’t look so nice - check out the photos of the difference she made .

Rose’s investment in the boat shed and surrounding area and all the hard work she has done over the years has encouraged other business owners and innovators to come to Flushing. Many visitors and locals a like have come to her special little place on the beach to hire equipment and check out her highly rated, delicious cakes.
