Chuck & Cat Need a Home

The History

Chuck and Cat met over 35 years ago and have been devoted to each other ever since. They lived happily in North Tonawanda until Cat had a massive heart attack. After a quadruple bypass, Cat was left with kidney failure caused by the cocktail of drugs needed to save her life.  

Chuck and Cat decided to leave their home in Tonawanda to move closer to the hospital so Cat could attend her kidney dialysis appointments three times a week, which are still a necessity until a transplant is possible.  They found a wonderful home on Baynes and Forest, where they happily spent the next ten years. 

The Problem

In late March of this year, with Cat in the hospital with further complications, Chuck received terrible news. His landlord of over ten years had sold his house without warning and the new landlord was evicting Chuck with only a month's notice. 

Chuck has been frantically looking for a new place to live. But with a minimal income, over ten years of medical expenses, and Cat currently undergoing treatment for a diabetes related amputation, Chuck is living check to check and his life savings are gone. 

He has looked at all options for housing including state subsidized apartments, all of which are full or have year-long wait lists. Finding regular accommodation is impossible, as he has no resources to secure a new apartment. 

How you can help

With this campaign you can help find Chuck and Cat a new home by raising the funds to cover first and last months rent, plus a security deposit.

We hope to raise $2,500 to cover securing a new home and possibly covering some moving costs.
