Liebe Unterstützerinnen und Unterstützer, liebe Freunde, Familie und Bekannte,
Mein Name ist Christina, ich bin 19 Jahre alt und habe gerade mein Abitur gemacht. Ich habe das große Glück, am The Young Americans College of the Performing Arts (YACPA) in Kalifornien in den USA angenommen zu sein und werde dort ein Studium der darstellenden Künste, das heißt Tanz, Musik und Schauspiel, absolvieren. Dafür brauche ich allerdings eure Unterstützung.
Bei der Ausbildung am YACPA in Corona, Kalifornien steht neben Tanz, Musik und Schauspiel auch die Pädagogik im Fokus des Studiums. Ich beginne im Juli 2021; das Studium dauert zwei Jahre und endet mit einem Associate-of-Arts-Abschluss.
Während des zweiten Studienjahres nehmen die Studierenden an den sogenannten „Music-Outreach-Touren“ teil. Dabei reisen Gruppen von ca. 40 Studierenden rund um den Globus, sind jeweils drei Tage in einer Stadt und veranstalten dort Workshops für Kinder und Jugendliche. Dabei werden die Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer intensiv in Tanz, Gesang und Schauspiel unterrichtet. Am Ende steht jeweils eine große Show mit allen. Bei diesen Workshops steht nicht allein der künstlerische Aspekt im Vordergrund, sondern vor allem, den Kindern eine Stimme, mehr Selbstbewusstsein und gute Gemeinschaftserfahrungen zu geben.
Ich habe schon als Kind eine große Liebe zur Musik entwickelt und durfte sowohl musikalisch als auch tänzerisch viel Bühnenerfahrung sammeln. Als ich dann im Alter von 11 Jahren zum ersten Mal bei einem Workshop der Young Americans mitgemacht habe, wurde ich von der positiven Lebenseinstellung und Energie der Young Americans angesteckt und inspiriert. Durch diese Erfahrung hat sich mein Wunsch, selbst auch Performing Arts zu studieren, weiter gefestigt. Damit möchte ich Kinder und Jugendliche bei ihrer persönlichen Entwicklung sowohl künstlerisch als auch menschlich stärken.
In Deutschland werden die darstellenden Künste nicht im Format eines einheitlichen Studiums angeboten und auch die Möglichkeit, mit Kindern aller Nationalitäten zu arbeiten, ist einzigartig. Deshalb möchte ich am YACPA studieren.
Das F1-Visum, das ich über die Universität für den Aufenthalt in den USA bekomme, verbietet mir, neben dem Studium zu arbeiten. Deswegen muss die Verfügbarkeit der gesamten Studiengebühren und Nebenkosten wie die Beiträge zur Unterbringung in einer Wohnung für Studierende der Universität im Vorhinein gewährleistet sein.
Die Studiengebühren für die gesamten zwei Jahre belaufen sich auf 23.000€, hinzu kommen ca. 12.000€ Miete für eine Wohnung des Colleges für 24 Monate. Dabei sind die Lebenshaltungskosten noch nicht berücksichtigt.
Ich werde das verbleibende Jahr bis Juli 2021 viel arbeiten und sparen, um das Studium finanzieren zu können. Das allein wird allerdings nicht ausreichen. Deswegen bitte ich euch, mich finanziell zu unterstützen und dieses Studium möglich zu machen. Ich bedanke mich herzlich für jede Spende!

My name is Christina, I am from Germany and I am 19 years old. I am very fortunate to have been accepted into The Young Americans College of the Performing Arts in California to study there. But because of financial difficulties, I really need your support for this.
The program at YACPA in Corona, California focuses on dance, music and drama. In addition to that, the study also thematize pedagogy and teaching methods. The program lasts 2 years and ends with an Associate of Arts degree. The start of my studies is in July 2021.
In the second year of study, the students take part in the so-called "Music Outreach Tours". Groups of around 40 students travel around the globe, 3 days in each city. They organize workshops for children and adolescents in which the participants learn dance, singing and acting intensively for three days and at the end of which there is a big show with all participants. These workshops focus not only on the artistic aspect, but above all on giving the children a voice, more self-confidence and a stable community.
I developed a great love for music as a child and was able to gain a lot of stage experience. When I attended a Young Americans workshop for the first time at the age of 11, I was inspired by the positive lifestyle and energy of the Young Americans. Through this experience, my desire to study performing arts myself and to empower children and young people with their personal development, both artistically and personally, was further strengthened.
Since the performing arts in Germany are unfortunately not offered as a unified study and do not include this unique opportunity to work with children of all nationalities, I would like to study at YACPA.
The F1 visa that I now get from the university for my stay in the USA does not allow me to work alongside my studies. For this reason, the availability of all tuition fees and additional costs, such as contributions to accommodation in a student apartment at the university, must be guaranteed in advance.
The tuition fees for the entire 2 years amount to $26,000, in addition there is approximately $13,000 rent for a student apartment of the college for 24 months. The cost of living is not yet included.
I will now work the rest of the year until July 2021 and save everything to finance my studies. However, that will not be enough. Therefore I hereby ask you to support me financially with a donation. I am very thankful for every help!

Desarrollé un gran amor por la música cuando era niña y pude ganar mucha experiencia en el escenario. Todo comenzó cuando asistí a un taller para jóvenes estadounidenses a la edad de 11 años. Allí fui conquistada por el estilo de vida positivo y la energía de los jóvenes estadounidenses. A través de esta experiencia se fortaleció aún más en mí el deseo de estudiar artes escénicas, y de empoderar a los niños y jóvenes con su desarrollo, tanto artístico como personal.
Lamentablemente, dado que las artes escénicas en Alemania no se ofrecen como un curso unificado de estudio y no incluyen esta oportunidad única de trabajar con niños de todas las nacionalidades, me gustaría estudiar en YACPA.
La visa F1 que ahora obtengo de la universidad para mi estadía en los Estados Unidos no me permite trabajar junto con mis estudios. Por esta razón, la disponibilidad de todas las tasas de matrícula y los costos adicionales, como las contribuciones para el alojamiento en un departamento de estudiantes en la universidad, deben garantizarse con anticipación.
Las tasas de matrícula para los 2 años completos ascienden a € 23 000, además de aproximadamente € 12 000 de alquiler para un departamento de estudiantes de la universidad por 24 meses. El costo de vida aún no está incluido.
