Help Christina & family

I am posting this page on behalf of my dear friend, Christina Hansen, of Coulterville, CA.  She and her family have come upon very tough times.

In Mid-August, Christina’s mother (whom she cares for) was transported by ambulance to the hospital.  She was suffering from heart failure, and ended up having a pacemaker put in.  She is currently in a rehabilitation care facility in Modesto, CA.  She cannot go home until there is in home nursing care in place.  Her insurance coverage will soon run out.   They will be trying to release her soon, but there is no one to bring her home or care for her.

On August 24th, Christina was in an accident.  She sustained a severe broken leg (tibia plateau shatter).  After extensive surgery, she is also in a rehabilitation care facility in Sonora, CA.  She is in a full leg cast and cannot put any pressure on her leg for at least 3 months for it to heal correctly.  She also has long term complications from a congenital heart condition.

On September 7th, Christina’s son, Nicholas had secured a ride from a friend to visit his mother.  On the way to visit her, he was in a car accident and sustained bruising, cuts and trauma from the airbag slamming into his chest. Due to having hemophilia he is at risk for life threatening internal bleeds from the impact and required infusion of Factor8 needed for blood clotting. He was airlifted from Sonora to a Modesto hospital.

Christina is the main caregiver for her family.  She stands to lose everything.  Her family lives on a meager fixed income.

This family is overwhelmed with 3 times the heartache and financial burden.  They could really benefit from your help, so they can have peace of mind while they all  heal properly.

In the short term - the family needs:

-Handicap access built, materials & labor ( needed before Christina can be discharged)
-Transportation assistance to and from doctor's appointments/ Physical Therapy
-Co-pays
-In home nursing care
-Assistance with grocery shopping, food prep, house keeping and bathing.
