Help Chris get a Kidney

Donation protected
Hello my name is Christopher Rowe
To bring out my story like this is not easy for me. In 2010 I was diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome, a kidney disease. My doctor prescribed me high doses of Cortizone, which sadly didn’t help me and ended up destroying both of my hips. 2012 I had a double hip replacement and being a House Dancer this was the first shock that showed me that changes were coming.

Throughout the years I did what my doctors told me to do and even tried alternative medicine, but nothing helped. Sadly my kidney function went down to 3%. Last year I needed another operation, to be on dialysis called peritoneal dialysis. It’s when you have a catheter placed in your abdomen and it allows me to have my dialysis treatment at home. Throughout the whole night I am on dialysis with the help of a machine. Since my decision to be on dialysis, traveling for me is not possible.

As of now my energy levels are cut in half, I am not able to work full-time. So bills for medication, doctor visits and dialysis supplies are constantly coming.
With the love and blessings of my sister Celeste, she wants to donate one of her kidneys. My younger sister with two children wants to help me live without a machine!!

I can’t explain how that makes me feel without having tears. I love my sister dearly and I always have, but knowing that she is willing to help me with my sickness is truly a blessing.

After the operation Celeste and I will not be able to work for a few months. I work as a teacher in Germany on a American base and after a kidney transplant my immune system will be very low and working with children for me can be pretty dangerous.

But my sister’s and my bills for living, including my doctor visits and medication will continue coming.

People that know me, know I am not a person to really ask for help. I am usually the one that helps anyone in need. Whenever there was a challenge in my life, I found a away. I love to smile, I love to dance. I often say to parents about children “ Trees don’t grow overnight, neither do we”

It has taken some time for me to except that I need help and that it is not a bad thing to ask.

The donations are for
Housing bills
Rent
Doctor visits
Hospital bills
Medication
And my flight back to USA

Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
Sincerely
Christopher Rowe
