Christopher Jesse Ackerman Memorial

This is Chris. He is a 29 year old Father, Fiancé, Brother, Son, Grandson, and dear friend who is fighting for his life against a horrible disease known as MAI. MAI stands for Mycobacterium Avium Intracellulare infection, it is a lung disease that has slow progression with the high probability of stealing your life. In the beginning of 2019 Chris was rushed to the hospital with trouble breathing. It was then that they realized his infected lung had collapsed. While this was unbearable Chris still managed to go about his day to day life raising his son, even traveling to AZ to visit with his brother and meet his nephew. The earlier this month Chris was rushed to the hospital again with trouble breathing and after multiple tests it was found that the infection had started to move to his "healthy lung". With his breathing on the decline his doctors decided to intubate him giving his heart and lungs a break while a machine did all the work.

As of today Chris is in the ICU fighting as hard as he possibly can to beat this ugly disease. As I mentioned before Chris is a father, prior to becoming deathly ill he was a stay at home dad, unable to work. Since being hospitalized his fiancé Lynn has had to split her time between being with the man that she loves and caring for their 4 year old son who asks everyday where daddy is. 

This GoFundme will go 100% to Chris and his direct family in order to help support his son and fiancé. It will also go towards paying any medical bills that may come from this situation.
