Help Choua Leng Moua FIGHT Liver Cancer!
On November 8, 2017, we received the heart-breaking news that our beloved Father, Choua Leng Moua, had been diagnosed with Stage 4 - Hepatocellular carcinoma (Liver Cancer). By the time the cancer was detected, numerous tumors had already formed in his liver and had spread to the surrounding lymph nodes.
In the short three months since his diagnosis, our Father has lost substantial amount of weight. As a result, he has become physically weak and unable to take in solid food. The changes have been very difficult to deal with for our family, especially our Mother, May Houa Xiong Moua. This had become very emotional and significantly impacted our family.
Our Father has been a machinist for the last 30 years and has not been able to return to work since he was diagnosed. Our Mother also has taken a leave of absence from work to care for our Father. Together we believe that we will find the strength to fight with him, even though we have no control over this disease.
Since the progression of Hepatocellular Carcinoma, our Father has had to be admitted to the hospital several times. The current prognosis is not very positive, because there is no treatment or medication that has been proven to work reliably. And more intense treatment may shorten his remaining life. Yet even with this prognosis, he has a strong spirit and will not give up to this disease! He is a fighter and will continue to fight this awful disease!
Our Father is more than our hero. He is honest, loyal, kind hearted, and always willing to help others, no matter what the task is. He is also a well-liked member of the Hmong community, especially in the Moua clan.
We need your help. Anything you can do to help us help him would be much appreciated. All donations received will be used to pay for incurred medical bills, further treatments, and his monthly expenses.
