Help Charlie to Cycle with his Children
Hi everyone,
My name is Charlie.
In 2016 at 28 years old, my life changed when I had a brain hemorrhage and suffered a brain injury. After spending months in hospital, I was finally discharged, but with drastic changes to my daily life. I now spend 85% of my time in a wheelchair, I have carers in and out of my home everyday, I was unable to write, I have difficulties with my vision and wear an eye patch to help improve this, my physical and cognitive ability has been impaired and I now attend Headway Milton Keynes to help me.
It is at Headway that I take part in cognitive and social groups, and with the help of my friends there, I learnt to write again. The biggest impact since my injury has been on my children. I have two children aged 8 and 10 who are my world. Unfortunately due to my physical ailments since my brain injury, I face limits everyday of what I am able to do with them. I have carers visiting me at home 4 times a day which limits my time to spend with my children.
Recently I have been working extremely hard on my physical ability so that I am able to go on bike rides with my children. They are my world and I would love to be able to do more things with them. That is why I am asking for any donations to help. I need to purchase a specialised handcycle attachment for my wheelchair so that I can go out with my children without the presence of a carer to transport me around, and so I can spend some quality time with my children again.
I would appreciate any help or support you can offer,
Thank you
