Help Charlie Brown

Charlie Brown is a 5 and a half year old beagle mix that has been in my life since he was 8 weeks old. He is a parvo survivor and has earned a long healthy life. A year and a half ago he injured his back and experienced paralysis in his back legs. He was in the emergency vet for one night and by some miracle was up and walking the next day. At that time he was diagnosed with FCE, which is basically an embolism in the spinal cord. He recovered within a few weeks and has been healthy and happy, but starting on Monday, has been exhibiting the same symptoms and is worsening. After x-rays yesterday and an overnight visit at the emergency vet again, the neurology consult has come back with nothing definite, and Charlie's condition is continuing to worsen. He is a very healthy dog other than this spinal issue. This afternoon he is going to have an MRI to determine what's going on - they assume it is a bulging disc, but it may be an inflammatory condition instead. Post-MRI we are looking at either back surgery or a spinal tap and medication plan. Either way the vet bills are adding up quickly and we are asking for some help. Our goal is about half of what the total bill could be with surgery. Charlie Brown is like our child. He has been through so much and has earned a long life. He has been many places and still has so much to see and so much love to give. Please help. Even the smallest of donations will be so helpful in our time of need.
