Help Cecil get an accessible van

Donation protected

We are starting this Go-Fund-Me page for our Uncle Cecil Morgan. We want to help him raise funds to purchase a Van that is wheelchair accessible. In October 2015, he suffered a stroke at the age of 52. The stroke caused paralysis on his left-side. He is a fighter and determined to get stronger again. His spirit and personality are as resilient as ever. Unfortunately, his resources are limited, and he lacks his own transportation which has hindered his recovery progress. He needs to readily access outpatient rehab/therapy to achieve the desired improvement in his health. Right now, he relies on public transportation. It's not always reliable, and he has to spend unnecessary hours away from home waiting for pick-ups and drop-offs. His own transportation will help remedy the issues that he is experiencing with not getting timely therapy. We need your collective help to raise funds toward the purchase of a Van that is wheelchair accessible. Any and all donations are appreciated.

Cargiver
Cecil has been a caregiver all of his adult life, and he actually began caring for others in his teenage years. In the healthcare community, he has touched many lives and families. By 2000, he was in an executive position in a home healthcare and hospice company. The company served individuals and families throughout Birmingham, AL and surrounding cities within a 50 miles radius. He went above and beyond to make sure the families that he was serving were receiving the best care possible. Because he was a nursing assistant, he would go out and help care for patients, too. His executive position didn't stop him from filling in where needed. He provided nursing care, took meals, did yard work, and light housekeeping where necessary. It just shows you the type of character that he displayed.

When he left the company, he still was a caregiver specializing in providing private care for individuals with Parkinson Disease, ALS, Alzheimer's Disease, and Cancer. Actually, Cecil had come home from caring for a family when he suffered his stroke. Before that day, he had always been a caregiver in one capacity or another.

Family
He has been the backbone of our family. He has sacrificed most of his life to help his family. He has provided love and emotional support like building our self-esteem, cheering us on, helping us reach our career goals, teaching us and giving us life skills, and giving guidance and advice. His financial support has filled in many gaps and improved our quality of life. He was Santa for many years to the kids in the family. He helped many get their 1st car. He helped with monthly expenses, helped cover college expenses, and  helped provided jobs to family members. His physical support was constant until his stroke. He did things like take family members meals often, take them to the doctor, run errands, do handyman work on family homes and cars. These are just a few examples of the support and care he has given to his family.

He was always giving and going before his stroke. This is why we are asking you to join us in helping him improve his quality of life.

Many blessings to you all.
