Help Ceci Beat Pancreatic Cancer

 2018 is not off to a good start for my friend, Ceci Ann Medina. Although she started the year off very optimistically, and excited to start her full time real estate and part time accounting businesses, things took a turn for the worst. In early January Ceci was doubled over with abdominal pain, and was not able to eat or keep anything down. Her weight was dropping rapidly. On January 4th, she was admitted to the hospital for lab work and CT scans. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, with an inoperable tumor on January 12th. Her Oncologist told her she would be receiving aggressive chemotherapy for the next six months, thus she would be unable to work. Ceci is a survivor. Eighteen years ago she fought breast cancer and won. She is now facing a harder and more difficult battle with this most recent diagnosis. As she says, “Jesus take the wheel.” Ceci’s life passion has always been volunteering. She has given so much of her time that she earned the positions of Kiwanis International Lt. Governor for the Southwest District, Key Club Administrator for the El Paso Area, and past Governor for Optimist International New Mexico West Texas District, just to name a few. However, her biggest passion has been volunteering in the area of Childhood Cancer. She is also an awesome mentor, caregiver, and coach for others battling cancer. Ceci has given so much of herself to the community, it’s our turn to pay it forward to her. We are all givers, let’s continue giving by helping Ceci with yet another cancer battle.  Let’s show her that her selflessness did not go unnoticed.
