Help CDG Children Fight Illness
Donation protected
One of Bella's gifts is bringing amazing people into our lives, people we wouldn't have otherwise met. One of these people is Carlota Pascoal, a PhD Student at NOVA University in Lisbon, Portugal. We met Carlota at the World CDG Conference in Lisbon and were immediately compelled to help once we heard about her research.
Carlota is studying the immune systems of CDG patients, in hopes to give doctors more treatment options when CDG patients are sick. Bella, and many other CDG children, have died from viruses that healthy kids would've likely been able to fight off. The hypothesis is their immune systems don't work like healthy children due to the effects of CDG.
By better understanding what's happening in the immune system of CDG patients, there may be existing treatments that could be applied to save lives. Funding has not been made available for Carlota's project, so we're starting a GoFundMe to kick start her efforts.
Please join us in helping this ground breaking work progress! We will be matching dollar to dollar up to $2,500 for an overall goal of $5,000.
Thank you so much,
Heather & Matt
