Help CC with Rent

Hello again. It’s me.

I understand that money is tight with the cost of living constantly rising, but I’m desperate right now.

My current job recently gave all staff layoff notices, we all received them the 1st of September, due to our program’s funding been exhausted as COVID-19 is no longer a pandemic. I work as a case manager, with a nonprofit and deal with the homeless and mentally ill population. I recently moved into my own apartment with my brother earlier this year, there was also a GoFundMe created for that, and I am terrified of losing my apartment due to a non-existent savings account (that went to fixing my car right after we moved into the apartment) and my job search yielding little to no offers. My brother is currently interning as he just finished up his electrician schooling so the little income he brings is not enough to cover full rent, which is $2,140 a month. Rent is disgustingly high but I do live in Orange County and this was one of the most decent places I not only found, but could afford. If I had known that my program was time sensitive and not permanent I would have looked for something cheaper or held out until I found rent specials.

I am currently looking for a new job, but again employers are slow to reach out and the interview process is lengthy. My current employer did give me until mid October to find something, and I am scrambling at this point because it seems as if no place is hiring and offering a livable wage.

I am hoping that I can raise at least two months rent with this GoFundMe. That’s $2,480. It’s a lot, but it’s me preparing for the worst.
