Let’s bring CaveSim back to TCR in 2019!
Hi there! This is Dave Jackson with CaveSim. Thank you so much for allowing me to bring the mobile cave to TCR in 2013 and 2015! I really enjoyed getting to participate, and it was awesome to see how popular CaveSim was.
It’s been quite a few years since we’ve had CaveSim at TCR, but we’ve been in Austin and San Antonio quite a lot lately for school programs, public events (including the Austin Cave Festival), and show-cave events (Natural Bridge Caverns). Quite a few of you have helped with these programs, and I thought it might be fun to bring CaveSim back to TCR so that all the Texas cavers can enjoy CaveSim again.
I’m always adding new stuff to CaveSim, and there are always new cavers at TCR. I’d love for everyone to be able to check out CaveSim at TCR, but it’s going to take some serious funding to bring the CaveSim system down from Colorado ($3208, to be exact). The good news is that once we’re in the area, we’ll continue to do lots of school programs like we’ve done on previous trips. We did ten days of school programs on our last trip, and we have a long list of teachers asking for programs for the Fall. If you think cave conservation education is a good thing, and you’d like to see CaveSim back at TCR and in central Texas schools, then please help us bring CaveSim back in October!
