Casey Fight With Breast Cancer

My ex-wife Casey, who is the mother of my children and loving friend, has recently been diagnosed with an aggressive type of breast cancer called invasive ductal carcinoma. It is uncommon for a woman her age to have breast cancer.  We all are shocked and devastated by this news. The cancer is much more advanced than we initially thought and has metastasized to her lymph nodes and is invading the rest of her body. 

Everything has happened so incredibly fast. With appointments high in numbers and scattered to many different places, we are left with few choices. The prognosis is surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. Since we weren't prepared for this, I am reaching out to our family, friends and anyone else who is willing to help a family in this time of need. The transportation costs and lodging, when out of  town, plus the expenses for the treatments that aren't completely covered by insurance. We need specific foods for a strict diet to help keep her healthy and strong during intense treatment . We will need other supplies to help out after surgery as well. 

For those who know Casey, they know that she is generally full of life, a fantastic mother, smiling, selfless, leads a healthy life style, and loves to spend time in her garden. She loves to ride her Harley with her motorcycle club the Litas. Being outdoors at the beach and going camping with her kids are also some of her favorite activities.  She is a currently a student at MSJC with a 4.0 GPA working on her masters degree in Criminal Justice, and has achieved her certificate of completion thus far.

It has been hard on all of us to see her so frightened, with the ups and downs in her emotions, trying to come to terms with what's happening.  Anything would help at this point - even if it's only a few dollars. We will post updates on her progress in this battle for her life.
