This is the sister of an officer cadet i just trained at Sandhurst. He is from Ukraine and his sister fell ill while he was on the course. He only earned a few hundred pounds month but gave all his money to help his sister as they is no NHS in Ukraine.

As you can imagine life is hard at the min in that country and with the constant threat of Russia, nothing is guaranteed.

Alina is 32 and from Kyiv she is the sister of Ocdt Ivan Berezovskyi, currently in senior term. Alina was diagnosed with a brain tumor in June, and this has affected her life in serious way. She requires treatment in order for her to be able to live a normal life.
In July 2018, a tumor fluid pump operation was performed. Later, Alina was assigned to undergo a long course of hormonal therapy and two courses of radiation therapy, which lasted from August to October. After magnetic resonance imaging, it turned out that the therapy did not help and the tumor began to grow again and gave rise to complications. In November, hydrocephalus was diagnosed and an urgent operation on the installation of a valve in the brain was prescribed, which contributes to the restoration of the natural flow of lymph.
Due to illness, Alina lost the opportunity to move and talk normally.
In order to overcome the tumor, Alina should go through the first three courses of chemotherapy, followed by a long period of rehabilitation and adaptation to normal life.
For the entire period of treatment was spent about 5000 pounds. The first courses of chemotherapy and rehabilitation will cost about 2000 pounds.
