Building a well on behalf of Dr Ahmed Warsame

This morning we received the heartbreaking news that our beloved Uncle Dr Ahmed Mohamed Warsame has returned to his Lord.
The hearts of our community are hurting and our eyes have shed many tears, and we will not say except what pleases Allah (SWT).
Dr Ahmed was bestowed the honour of making the Kalima La ila ila Allah his last words, the mark of a good end and a good start to his journey to the next life.
Dr Ahmed was a kind, loving soul. He made an effort to always make a difference in the lives of those around him. Regardless of what he went through, Abti Ahmed was always smiling. Throughout his 5 year battle with cancer, he kept his hope, trust and faith in Allah through all his sorrows.
Even his Doctors were left amazed at his fighting spirit, which all comes down to the power of Allah who had his back though thick and thin as a reward for what he used to do. A true friend of the Quran and the Masjid, he was constantly donating to charity. He was always kind and giving to everyone around him. A loving teacher, tutor, professor who loved to teach and had a passion for spreading knowledge.
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (
ﷺ) said, "When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased)."
[Muslim].
We have come together as a community to continue with what Abti Ahmed has taught us during his years with us. We are hoping to build a water well in his name that will benefit those who need it the most for many years to come. May his scale of good deeds continue to increase with every use of this well.
100% of donations will go towards Sadaqah Jariyahs in Ahmed Mohamed Warsame name. With authorization from the Warsame family, all donations past target ($25,000 for the well) will be withdrawn and given to his family to continue to do good deeds in his name inshaAllah (Through Islamic Relief).
