Build a new learning facility for Afghan children

Hi everyone, 

With your help and generosity, we were able raise over £10,000 to complete the new learning facility for Afghan children. However, with temperatures soaring above 40 degrees, the facility currently does not have a source of power. Therefore, I am aiming to raise over £1000 to purchase solar panels and ceiling fans for the halls.

Education is a fundamental right according to Article 14 of the European Union. However to most Afghan girls, it is not even going to be an option moving forward. With a literacy rate of less than 30% (the worst in the world), women’s education will suffer profoundly as the Taliban takeover. As much as we do not have control over the situation, there are a number of things that we can do to make sure the upcoming generation do not suffer.

I am currently fundraising to complete the building of a new learning facility back home. A small building was acquired to teach young girls and boys but interest has grown rapidly over the years and as a result, the current facility can no longer host the number of students.

 

The local community have come together to acquire some land but they cannot complete the building works alone and they need our help. They are roughly £10,000 short of their target. It is a massive target but anything is possible if we come together. I am relying on you all to not only donate but please share and encourage others to donate.

I am completing this project in the memory of my late father and grandfather who passed away last month.
