Help Brittany and Alex raise funds for IVF!

Hi! Our names are Brittany and Alex and we are raising funds to help pay for IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) as we have been trying to start a family for 5 years now. We have been private about our struggle with this during this time—only telling anyone that needed to know for any reason. Anyone that knows us will know how difficult it is for us to ask for help with this.

Brittany has been diagnosed as having PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) which causes sub-fertility and we are also dealing with Male-factor Infertilty. 1 in 6 couples will struggle with infertility according to the World Health Organization and roughly 30% of those cases are due to a combo of fertility issues from both partners.

We have been able to access some government funding to help with the costs but it only covers a maximum of $7,500 per year for 3 years and will not fully cover the cost of one IVF cycle or any freezing of embryos for future transfers. We expect to pay for 20% the cost of medications, travel costs, embryo freezing, and the remaining balance for the IVF procedure out of pocket at this time. We will be dealing with these costs while also missing time, and therefore income, from work for the many appointments needed as we do not have a fertility clinic on PEI and need to travel out of province for treatment.
