Help Bring River Sasser Home to ALL of his Family.
The Sasser family has suffered a tremendous loss in the tragedy that occurred on June 28th of this year. River Sasser, age 9 lost both of his parents in a tragedy that has seemingly torn this family apart. River has not only been displaced from his home, but he has also not been allowed to see his brother or any of his paternal family since this tragic turn of events and he has also been denied any opportunity to even speak with his brother who is the closest living relative to River now that his parents are no longer here to care for him.
River had been at his maternal grandmother’s home when the tragedy occurred and despite all attempts to reach them, there has been no allowance or provision for the paternal family to see or even speak to River during this time. River was allowed to attend his mothers funeral service however he was denied the opportunity to attend his father’s service which had been intentionally delayed just for River to be allowed to attend the service which had to be recorded instead so the young man can have this opportunity at a later time.
River’s parents had taken precautionary steps years earlier and had named a paternal aunt to be appointed as guardian and conservator if anything were to ever happen to the parents, both of whom had signed a letter attesting to their wishes being followed. The paternal aunt that they had trusted with this is less than six weeks away from graduating from Purdue University with honors where she will receive her degree in Psychology with and emphasis in Early Childhood Development, both of which make her involvement in River’s life almost a necessity however she too has been completely shut out of her nephew’s life since losing his parents.
Having exhausted all efforts at their disposal at this time to reach any type of shared visitation with River, the paternal family has been left no other option besides retaining legal representation and petitioning the court to enforce the parent’s wishes which had been made known and recorded in writing years previously. Lawyers however do not come without an enormous expense and the family is waiting on the death certificates to even be able to file a claim with the insurance companies involved or access any of the accounts that had been set up in the event of an emergency which this clearly qualifies as being.
River’s paternal family wants both sides of the child’s family to be a part of his life and share as much time with him as possible but it doesn’t appear that the current self-appointed guardian feels the same way at this time and this is of great concern to the family members which include his brother as well as his grandmother and aunt and uncle who all feel that they not only should be allowed to see River, they need to be allowed to see him based on the paternal side having experience in nursing and child psychology which they know River will need someone trained in this field and the sooner someone trained in this area can be with River to hopefully answer the many sensitive questions he will have, the less damage he will suffer as he progresses with his life.
The legal team that has been assembled has received part of their retainer fees however the family is still several thousand dollars from satisfying the obligation necessary to proceed with the legal actions that are now considered as being necessary and turn to fiends and social media to help in any way possible to help this innocent child get the help he needs and to have him reunited with ALL of his family and especially his brother whom he had been accustomed to seeing every day prior to losing his parents and having been displaced from his home and normal routine where it is not known how he is being comforted following losing his parents.
