Help bring normal back

Hello everyone!
As most of you know, my mother Julie and step-dad mike have recently been effected by hurricane Harvey. Their entire lives have been uprooted - due to massive flooding in their spring residence. They have lost 3 vehicles- personal belongings- and most importantly their home. They like many others, they do NOT have flood insurance as they were out of the flood zones and are in complete shambles trying to determine how to put their lives back to a "somewhat normal ". They have requested and are approved for FEMA assistance. This process however, is very lengthy-tedious- and with so many affected from the hurricane in Houston very monotonous . Also, to make matters worse during this turbulent time- they are not able to to work on a regular basis therefore not receiving weekly pay and are living off their savings ... They and their three dogs are displaced -staying with family, hotels, and friends while able to. Costs of living out of a suit case, bills and expenses do add up. I can't imagine . My mom has worked tirelessly for over 30 years at FedEx and given her time to the community. Mike has had a series of neck and back surgeries after an accident that has impaired his abilities to lift , move, and stand for long periods of time. After already gone through so much, my goal was to reach out to all those who want to help but don't know how or ask and we simply don't know what to say... Donating to charities or donations of supplies IS helping ... but I say donate to a direct cause where you know exactly where your money is going and that is to help rebuild Julie and mikes life back together! They need to physically rebuild their home and refurbish their belongings. From sheer-rock, tile, paint, flooring- mold remediation- electrical- appliances- furniture- food - even their front and back doors cant not shut due to warping, and daily essentials the costs to rebuild keep adding up along with the original monthly bills as they normally do.... the weight of these burdens are tremendous. Most know that Julie and mike would give the shirt on their back for someone - they have opened their home and hearts to all for years, now let's pull together to help them in their time if need!!!
