Help Bring Bonnie Home

Bonnie Lee Barada-Horvath was a doting mother, dutiful wife, caring sister, an aunt you could tell all your secrets, a friend to laugh and cry with and a human being who always saw the glass half full. In the last few years, Bonnie fell on hard times when her vision began to fail. Despite the efforts of her family support system and her doctors, both of Bonnie’s retinas had fully detached and she became completely blind. After a lifetime of proudly supporting herself, her husband and her son, Bonnie found herself completely dependent on her family. She lost the ability to provide for herself, her family and her social circle suddenly became very small. As you can imagine, all of this was a great deal for her to process in a relatively brief period of time. A number of other health problems began to creep up on her and the stress of managing the financial aspect of these matters eventually became overwhelming and Bonnie suffered a mental break. After much hope and prayer, we accepted that Bonnie might never regain mental clarity again but were comforted in knowing she was at least well cared for. Sadly, on Sunday, 10/08/17, we realized this was not the case as we were contacted and informed that Bonnie had died after suffering a cardiac arrest that resulted from a case of pneumonia she had developed from an untreated UTI. Currently, her body is located in Miami and the cost of her transfer, preparation and burial is $3500. This is an extremely overwhelming amount of money for her brothers and sisters during this difficult time. We are not the kind of people to ask for help, but we do not know what else to do. Please help us bring Bonnie home to her family so that we can properly grieve her unexpected and tragic death. No amount is too small and we would greatly appreciate any kind of help.
