This is Brenna
She is 4 years old in Nova Scotia and she needs a surgery that only two doctors perform in the United States. This surgery called Selective Percutaneous Myofascial Lengthening, we believe, will allow her to walk before she starts pre-kindergarten this Fall. We need to raise $65,000.00 Canadian to cover the surgery and the intensive therapy she will need after the surgery. We need to have the funds to pay before the surgery will happen. Once we have enough we can book a date. We are grateful to the team at the children’s hospital here in Nova Scotia, who have agreed to support Brenna after the surgery and intensive rehab.
So far we have raised a little over $12,000 from family and friends who believe in this little girl who was born at 24 weeks, survived a code being called and was saved by a doctor after a cord was cut and left inside her, brain bleeds, and two bouts of meningitis before she was able to come home from the NICU. To say she is a fighter would be an understatement. She is a delightful little girl who loves Peppa Pig, and being dunked into bed by her Dad at night . She is learning her letters and colours and while she has some difficulty speaking understands most everything you say and sometimes comes out with perfectly spoken long words like “ terrible!” or the “whole wide world” but her favourite word is “hug.” She is amazing. She is loving. She is strong and she deserves this surgery. Please help us get her to New Jersey to see Dr. Nuzzo for SPML surgery. Thank you for whatever you can give.
