Help Boss on the Road to Recovery

I am setting up this Go Fund me up for a family (the Marrelli's) that is near and dear to me and for the pain, heartache and expenses that they have endured these past 4 months.
This is about Boss
Boss was rescued in 2015 at approximately 4 years of age, where he was subjected to a lot of trauma.
He was used as a “Guard dog” and was secured to a fence outside by a chain clearly his whole life. As he is very submissive and a lover of all people his ‘owner’ went to other, inhuman lengths to try to make him more threatening, like incorrectly chopping off his ears. Upon medical examination it was confirmed he was struck on the front of the mouth with a solid object causing his gums to die and his teeth to fall out, his nails were completely filed flat from trying to dig his way free, and he was about 40 lbs underweight. Despite the abuse, he learned to trust his new family and love his new life.
In March of 2020 Boss was involved in an attack that left his front left leg broken in half, severing his bone completely along with a lot of other damage. His family rushed him to urgent care and were prepared for news of a necessary amputation. The doctor on staff notified us he was fairly confident he would be able to save the leg with extensive surgery, and due to his size and age, it was the more appropriate option. Post-surgery Boss sadly developed a severe infection, his family was notified about an injectable antibiotic that, with repeated use, would likely clear the infection. Unfortunately, it did not help and after exhausting all other options, over the course of over 3 months, the medical staff decided on an amputation. Thankfully, his amputation surgery on Saturday June 6th was a success and, though his recovery will be extensive, he is medically perceived to make a full recovery.
Boss’s family is committed to him and there was no question that they would do whatever it takes to keep him a part of their family. His medical costs have surpassed $40,000 to date, and in his recovery he will require additional medication, a specially made harness, physical therapy, water therapy, due to his age, and possibly a wheelchair for mobility due to his size.
Anyone who knows Tracey, Nicci, Sam and, Jojo will know that they would do this for any of their pets (or anyone else’s) without question. They are all a part of their loving family.
