Help Bill get through

Donation protected
Bill is fighting for his life and is declining quickly. We need your help as his situation is very urgent.

Bill was diagnosed almost 6 years ago with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) which is a disease with no cure other than lung transplant. Without a transplant Bill will suffocate to death. The doctors are telling us that there isn’t much life left in his lungs. He, therefore, needs the transplant NOW but must wait for organs that match size, tissue and blood type.  He was put on the transplant wait list on July 27, 2018. The hope is that the call for transplant comes very soon or he won’t make it. To make the situation even more difficult, he is also suffering from severe Pulmonary Hypertension which seriously affects and damages the heart.

Some of the expenses for the transplant are beyond our reach. We require housing in both Edmonton ( where the transplant will be done) and Winnipeg pre- and post-transplant. Bill will require some costly medical equipment, and will also require anti-rejection medications post-transplant that will cost between $2000 to $3000 per month for the rest of his life. Our provincial plan will only cover the cost of these meds after we meet our deductible each year.

As you can expect, the emotional and financial stress arising from the unknown road ahead is overwhelming. Costs for hospital parking, travel to and from Winnipeg for appointments, oxygen, meals, and any future treatment plans not covered by insurance will add up quickly.

Please help support us during this most difficult time. Any support, prayers and thoughts are very much appreciated.
