Help Bernie Fight ALS

In June of 2018 Bernie Giarraputo and his family's lives changed forever when they received the devastating news that he has been diagnosed with ALS.

ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a disease which deteriorates the motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord leading to complete paralysis.  Over time this disease takes away ones ability to walk, speak, swallow and ultimately breathe.

For those of you who do not know Bernie he is a loving husband, an amazing father of two beautiful girls, and a caring grandfather.  He is a sweet, humble man who would do anything for his family and friends.

Unfortunately, since Bernie's diagnosis, this disease has been rapidly progressing faster then anyone expected taking a toll on the family's finances.  He is no longer able to work or even live at home with his loved ones as he needs constant 24 hour care.  Bernie was placed in a rehab facility attached to Franklin Hospital in Valley Stream, New York which has all of the equipment, tools, physical therapy, and staff needed to help him live as comfortably as possible; however, his insurance only covers this service for a short period of time.

There is currently no cure or effective treatment for ALS but with everyone's help and kind donations you can help improve Bernie's quality of life and lessen the financial burden on his family.

Any donation would be much appreciated, thank you!
