Help Belinda through chemo

Belinda has just undergone a full hysterectomy and has subsequently been diagnosed with 3 separate gynaecological cancers. The day before surgery she was also diagnosed with a known family genetic predisposition called Lynch Syndrome. A condition that puts the carrier at high risk of several cancers at a young age.

Belinda is about to begin chemotherapy as part of her treatment. She is incredible mother o twin boys, aged 13 who have autism. Belinda has been an extremely self- sacrificial mother since their diagnosis at 3 years of age. All her energy has been focused on doing everything she can to give her boys the best opportunity in life and they have come leaps and bounds through all she has done. She has also been a single parent for many years now and finically there will be things ahead that on government payments she may struggle to afford. So now it's time we give back to her in her time of need.

As a woman I completely understand how important our physical appearance is to our mental health. Belinda will lose her hair as a result of her chemo. If you know her well, you will know she takes a lot of pride (and time) in her hair. And as freeing as it will be not to have to get up early enough to make sure she gets it done before she needs to be out the door, it is a massive part of her identity and I know how she will feel without it. So I am asking for you to give what you can to aid her in purchasing a wig to help her self esteem through this already difficult time. She is very deserving of this help as she has always been there for those in need. Including the many years I have been in and out of hospital with my health.

Chemo will begin in a few weeks time and Belinda has already begun looking for wigs. With or without hair she is one of the most beautiful people I know. I just know how much easier something that seems so simple will make this time for her.
